Tim Higginbottom had a great result in the first ‘lakes in a day’ race on Saturday, winning in 10.5 hours by only 4 minutes! The route was 50 miles and 4100 metres climb, a journey on foot from the very top of the Lake District at Caldbeck to the very bottom, at Cartmel, via the stunning Helvellyn Ridge and the western shoreline of Lake Windermere. With over 200 people racing it was no mean feat. The longest time taken was just under 24 hours.
